Every class of students at Salisbury Christian School receives consistent, intentional biblical instruction and development throughout the entirety of their education. Each senior class is then offered a culminating spiritual experience before they graduate - serving on the international mission field. Since 2007, our senior classes have traveled to Costa Rica, Peru, Hungary, and the Dominican Republic to serve the underprivileged in tangible, life-changing ways. This year, the Class of 2019 will be serving in Peru!
On these trips, our students and staff chaperones aim to be others-oriented, open, flexible, and ready to impact the community they are serving. We value preparation, creativity, and communication, and - as we do in everything at SCS - we make Christ pre-eminent in every aspect of service while abroad.
lima, peru 2019
This year, our senior class will be heading to Lima, Peru to partner with our friends at Iglesia Cristiana La Roca, from January 19 - 29, 2019! We will be traveling with more than 30 students, so we will split the group into several smaller teams in order to be more effective in ministering to the community around La Roca through daily Bible schools, music and sports ministry, and campus construction. We will use music as a tool to introduce people to Christ as we partner with the worship team at La Roca, including a major evangelistic event at the end of the week complete with worship music and a full gospel presentation. We will play soccer, volleyball, and handball with the children during our time in Peru, and our construction project will involve working alongside local contractors on campus to build a large, much-needed pergola for shade. Our students and chaperones are excited for the opportunity to travel to Peru and minister to a different culture while representing SCS and being the hands and feet of Jesus.
