SCS is indeed accredited and state-approved, and we work hard to maintain that status. The Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) works in tandem with our U.S. regional accreditation agency, the Middle States Association of Colleges & Schools (MSA), to ensure that Salisbury Christian School remains organizationally healthy and committed to excellence in education.
SCS is an indepedent, nondenominational school, so we are not tied to any one church. In fact, our students represent more than 120 Eastern Shore churches. We find our unity in the redemptive work of Jesus Christ on the cross and in our common purpose of striving to glorify Him in all we do.
We currently have 576 students enrolled in PreK 3 through 12th grade.
In our preschool program, we cap our classes at 18 or 20 students (depending on the classroom), and kindergarten through 5th grade classes are capped at 24 students. A typical class size, however, is 19-20 students. In addition to the teachers, every PreK and kindergarten class includes an instructional assistant and 1st through 5th grades share one instructional assistant per grade.
In our upper school (6th through 12th grade), class size ranges from 4 to 26 students, depending on the level of the course and the student interest expressed.
We have a student:faculty ratio of 11:1 - a ratio that enables highly personalized learning for all of our students.

Age is a factor used to determine admission for students entering pre-kindergarten and kindergarten. The dates outlined below are consistent with guidelines established by the state of Maryland. Our experience has shown that children in these age groups are generally more successful academically and socially when these guidelines are followed. Additionally, students must be toilet trained to begin school.
PreK 3: Age 3 by September 1 of current school year
PreK 4: Age 4 by September 1 of current school year
Kindergarten: Age 5 by September 1 of current school year
The SCS Guidance Department begins working with our students in kindergarten, consistently guiding them to be focused on their future after SCS. This encouragement leads 97% of our students to pursue college immediately after graduation, while the remainder enter the military or take a gap year.
SCS students in kindergarten through 12th grade are required to wear uniforms Monday through Thursday of each week; PreK students are not required to wear uniforms. The SCS uniform includes a logo-ed polo shirt and black, khaki, and navy pants, shorts, skirts, and skorts. On Fridays, students may wear any SCS shirt with jeans.
Lands' End serves as the official provider of all logo-item uniform pieces for SCS. Uniform "bottoms" must be "uniform-style" but may be purchased from any retailer of your choice. To purchase items, visit our school-specific ordering site.
We dearly value our students and their safety. Therefore, we take all measures necessary to ensure that safety. Our campus is equipped with magnetic locks on all doors and security cameras in strategic locations both inside and outside our buildings. All visitors must sign in through the Raptor System, which checks the Registered Sex Offender registry. Furthermore, our staff and student body regularly practice fire, lockdown, and evacuation drills, rooted in plans examined by the Maryland State Police. The SCS Safety & Security Taskforce continually reviews and updates our security measures.
If you want to learn more about the comprehensive, Christ-centered education Salisbury Christian offers, we suggest a visit to our campus! You can schedule a personal tour, join an Open House event, or coordinate a shadow day for your student.
